Foreign partners urged to support justice reform measures
The support of the foreign partners, especially of the EU, is very important in implementing the justice reform strategy, mainly during the first years, Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim said in a meeting centering on the coordination of the foreign assistance in the legal system. It involved the most active donors in this field, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Oleg Efrim said the Ministry of Justice already initiated the procedure for devising the plan of action that will contain the measures that will be taken in 2011-2016 to implement the justice reform strategy. The Ministry encouraged the responsible institutions to put forward proposals until September 23. The plan is to be submitted to Government by November 21.
The minister called on the representatives of the international organizations and institutions to make their own suggestions, including as regards possibilities of financing certain actions. He assured that the Government realizes the financial burden it undertook in order to reform the justice sector and is decided to contribute its own resources to achieve this objective.
The draft justice reform strategy was approved by the Government on September 6. The Ministry of Justice expects that the Parliament will pass the bill in final reading by the end of October.
