Former director of National Health Insurance Company named adviser to Premier

The former director of the National Health Insurance Company Mircea Buga was appointed as senior state adviser on health protection and social development to Prime Minister Pavel Filip, IPN reports.

In a message on a social networking site, Mircea Buga says he accepted this post because he perceived it as an opportunity to put into practice his knowledge so as to support the strategic reforms in healthcare and the social sphere.

The new adviser noted that he decided to continue to contribute to the development of the health and social protection sectors so as to promote the reforms that he initiated when he was minister of health and then minister of labor, social protection and family. “I take up confident that I will manage to positively stimulate the working policies in the two fields. These areas are both sensitive and important because their quintessence consists of the most treasured human values – health and security of the population,” wrote Mircea Buga.

Six days ago, Mircea Buga resigned from the post of director of the National Health Insurance Company, informing about his resignation also on a social networking site. He said that he took such a decision following a series of circumstances. He then announced that he will not leave the health sector.
