The German Bundestag invites the young Moldovan graduates to apply for the International Parliamentary Scholarship program. German Ambassador to Moldova Matthias Meyer told a news conference that the scholarship gives well qualified young people with a strong interest in politics the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of Germany's system of parliamentary government and then to implement the acquired knowledge in the country, IPN reports.
The German Parliament offers young people the opportunity to get to know the German parliamentary system and political decision-making processes and to gain practical experience of parliamentary work during a 15-week work placement with a Member of the Bundestag. The program lasts from March 1 until July 31, 2014. The winners will be offered a scholarship of €450 a month and will benefit from free accommodation. If the participants have where to live, they will receive a contribution of €250 a month for the related costs.
The scholarship-winners will be chosen by the German Bundestag’s independent selection panel in September. The applicants must have a university degree, very good knowledge of German, and be under the age of 30 at the start of the scholarship.
The applications must be submitted to the email address of the German Embassy in Chisinau by June 30, 2013.
The International Parliamentary Scholarship program has been implemented in Moldova since 2008. A number of 12 scholarships have been offered so far.
