National Bank and National Financial Market Commission to be questioned in raider attacks case
The parliamentary commission on economy, budget and finance will question representatives of the National Bank and the National Financial Market Commission in the case of the raider attacks on banks and companies. The collected information will be later presented in Parliament by a report. The commission’s chairman Veaceslav Ionita told a news conference that all the persons whose ownership rights were infringed are invited to the hearings, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Veaceslav Ionita said that during the hearings representatives of the mentioned institutions will tell what steps were taken, what are the legislative shortcomings and why the raider attacks were possible.
“We must deal with two problems – protect the property and punish those to blame. The partners with whom we discussed told us that if those responsible are not penalized, the problem will appear again soon,” said Veaceslav Ionita.
He also said that the commission on security and public order will question representatives of two law enforcement bodies the coming days.
Earlier, Prime Minister Vlad Filat held a news conference where he informed that four banks operating in Moldova were subject to raider attacks. Later, the PLDM and PCRM asked holding an extraordinary sitting of Parliament, where to question officials of the responsible institutions.
