The executive approved the plan of action for 2016-2018 for implementing the strategy for reforming the public administration, IPN reports. The document provides for the consolidation of the functional capacities of the Government and delimiting of the responsibilities of the authorities. The number of ministries and posts will be reviewed, while the public services will become more accessible to the people.
Special attention will be devoted to the digitization of public services, while the State Chancellery will pilot the conception of universal center for providing public services. There will be constituted the Prime Minister’s control body and institutionalized the mechanism of ensuring transparency in the work of state-owned business entities.
In the same meeting, the Cabinet approved the plan of action for ensuring an open government for 2016 – 2018. Under the document, in the period the Moldovan authorities will concentrate their efforts on strengthening the public integrity, more efficiently managing resources and improving the quality of public services provided for the people.
The authorities will also take measures to increase budget transparency in government procurement and to involve the people in working out policy documents. The access to information of public interest, including data about institutional performance, will be improved.
Moldova joined the Open Government Partnership in 2011, subscribing to the global efforts to promote and ensure transparency, to fight corruption and improve the quality of public services by realizing the technological and innovational potential.
