Off-site Cabinet meeting held behind closed doors
The off-site Government's meeting, taking place in the flood-hit village of Nemteni, Hancesti district, is held behind closed doors. The meeting is attended by the majority of ministers as well as local authorities. At the end of the sitting, Prime Minister Vlad Vilat, State Minister Victor Bodiu and Emergencies chief Mihail Harabagiu, are expected to hold a press briefing, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Four issues are highlighted on the agenda, including the setting up of a Disaster Relief Commission, which is to assess the damage caused by the floods and monitor the distribution of donations. A bill will also be considered to grant facilitations to the businesses involved in flood relief efforts.
Another issue to be discussed is related to the measures that need to be taken in the flood-hit communities – Nemteni, Obileni, Cotul Morii and Sarateni – in Hancesti district, and the allocation of funds to help the people left homeless.
In Nemteni, the recent floods damaged 214 homes, while in Cotul Morii there isn't a single house that wasn't affected. Some thirty homes were damaged in Sarateni and Obileni.
