Parliament confirms vote on a number of laws sent back by President Dodon

The legislative body on October 4 adopted again the bill to amend the Labor Code by which Europe Day is introduced as a holiday with celebration on May 9 together with the Victory Day. The bill was sent back to Parliament for reexamination by President Igor Dodon, who made use of his veto right.

Also, the MPs reexamined and readopted the draft law to transfer the former National Stadium in Chisinau to the U.S. Embassy for erecting a new building of the embassy.

Parliament passed again the bill to amend the Broadcasting Code and institute penalties for the broadcasters that commit the first violation in covering the elections.

Under the Constitution, Moldova’s President can send back to Parliament for reconsideration a law to which he has objections within two weeks. If the legislature confirms its vote on this, the President is obliged to promulgate it.
