PDM will not form alliances with parties with ideas different from its own, Marian Lupu

The Democratic Party (PDM) in the future Parliament will not form alliances with political parties whose ideas are different from its own, head of the Democratic parliamentary group Marian Lupu stated in the program “Important” on TVC21 channel, IPN reports.

According to Marian Lupu, no party will be able to get by itself a majority of seats in the upcoming legislative elections. The Democratic group’ leader does not rule out the possibility that the PDM will form a coalition with the Party of Socialists, but considers it is more real to sit at the negotiating table with the leaders of the Party “Action and Solidarity” and the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”, Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase. “After the parliamentary elections, a pro-European majority will be needed, which would not allow the abolition of the Association Agreement with the EU and the change of the country’s strategic domestic and foreign policy course,” he stated.

As to the Liberal Party’s initiative to dismiss President Igor Dodon, Marian Lupu said that in the current conditions this could end with nothing and could lead to destabilization and this opinion is shared by a series of foreign officials. “I don’t think that the PL or PAS, which go to the prosecutor’s office with initiatives, do not realize this. If they do not understand, I will have what to criticize their analytical teams for. But I think they understand because they have sufficient capacities in this regard. These are political PR technologies,” stated Marian Lupu.
