Persons with dual nationality able to work at state institutions

The persons who have dual nationality will be able to work at the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime, the Customs Service and the State Guard and Protection Service. A bill that removes this restriction from a number of legislative documents was put forward by Liberal MP Victor Popa, and adopted in Parliament in first reading on October 7, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the author of the bill, the restriction on occupying certain posts was imposed by a law in 2007. The situation was rectified in 2009 by another law, but that law contained multiple shortcomings. “The persons dismissed from posts because they hold dual nationality win the legal cases in court and are paid damages,” said Victor Popa. The bill passed in first reading enables the persons transferred to another job or dismissed owing to the dual nationality to be reinstated in the post or employed at a similar post on application. The Communist parliamentary group voted against the bill.
