Pesticide waste laboratory to be created in Moldova
Romania will grant €300,000 to Moldova for a laboratory that will determine pesticide waste in plants, soil and in foods of non-animal origin, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The intention has been formalized in a memorandum of understanding between the Moldovan Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Moldova's Minister of Agriculture Vasile Bumacov stated that the laboratory will facilitate the implementation of the National Program for the monitoring of food of non-animal origin. It will create the possibility for the state to supervise such food in order to make sure that production both marketed domestically and exported abroad is safe.
The project will be implemented within 18 months.
