Turkish man discovered dead in Chisinau apartment
A Turkish citizen who managed a limited liability company in Chisinau was found dead in an apartment on Gheorghe Asachi St that he rented. The police arrested five persons who are suspected of asphyxiating the victim with a scarf and of stealing things from the apartment, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the General Police Commissariat, the police were called by the owner of the apartment, where the Turkish man had lived for about six years. The five suspects were arrested as a result of investigations. These are two men aged 19 and 26 from Hancesti and Cantemir districts, and three girls aged between 20 and 23 from Criuleni and Ungheni districts.
The 61-year-old victim had been earlier visited by the three girls in the apartment. The suspects face 12 to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment for murder.
A similar case happened a year ago, when a Turkish businessman aged 62 was found strangulated in an apartment in Chisinau’s Rascani district. The police later arrested six suspects - two girls and four men aged between 15 and 25.
