The owners of casinos in Chisinau will pay an annual tax of 150,000 lei into the municipal budget. This is twice more than until now. The decision was taken by the Chisinau Municipal Council on March 29, IPN reports.

The local tax was also increased for halls with gaming machines. The owners will pay yearly by 25,000 lei for a machine for adults and 15,000 lei for a machine for children. Earlier the tax was 4,000 lei.

The kiosks working after 11pm will pay a local tax that is by 30% higher, plus a tax for the location of the retail unit. The filling station owners will pay annually 10,000 lei for every column.

Valentina Constantinov, deputy head of the Trade, Food and Services Division, said the new taxes will bring 13 million lei into the municipal budget.

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said in this connection that the taxes for the location of kiosks will continue to be increased so that the sellers are motivated to move from the street to shopping centers and markets.
