Two apartments in Chisinau, which belong to Ilan Shor, will be auctioned to recover more than 5 billion lei for the benefit of the Savings Bank, which is in the process of liquidation. The bailiff has received the approval of the Court of Appeal, which has definitively rejected the appeal of Ilan Shor's lawyer Aureliu Colenco against the seizure, IPN reports.
According to the authorities, the two apartments are part of a series of assets that were seized from Ilan Shor, convicted of fraud in the "Bank Fraud" case. After his conviction, the courts ordered the seizure of his movable and immovable property and now, as part of the forced execution procedure, the aim is to recover the damages caused by the bank fraud.
Ilan Shor's lawyer challenged the seizure minutes, arguing that the assets were not sufficiently well described and that their condition was not mentioned, which could influence their value. However, the courts considered that these objections were not well founded and that the insufficient description of the goods could not lead to the annulment of the minutes.
At the same time, several of Ilan Shor's assets - buildings, land, means of transportation and money from 20 bank accounts - are seized. These measures are part of a larger process, started in 2023, to recover the sums defrauded as a result of the illegal activities of Ilan Shor, sentenced to 15 years in prison.
