Woman who forced mother to leave home ordered to pay living allowance to her
A woman from Chisinau was brought to trial after she stopped helping financially her retired mother and made her leave her home. She was ordered to pay a monthly living allowance to her mother, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the 84-year-old retired woman, who is an invalid with the second disability degree, filed a complaint to the Botanica Prosecutor’s Office, saying that her daughter refuses to maintain her. Her daughter is also retired, but continues to work and has a monthly income of over 4,000 lei.
The elder woman had her own apartment. In 2006, she was convinced by her daughter to donate it to her grandson, who is the woman’s son, and was assured that they will maintain her throughout her life. In April 2011, the daughter forced her mother to leave the apartment and the elder woman remained without a place to stay.
The court ordered the woman to pay 1,000 lei a month to her mother. The old woman asked the court to reduce the amount to 500 lei a month, saying this sum will do for her necessities.
