Twenty-three couples got married today – 09.09.09 – during a festivity held at the Shopping MallDova center in Chisinau. The brides and grooms answered “Yes” in unison, when asked by the civil registry official if they are ready to become husband or wife, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Wedding of the Year organized at Shopping MallDova for the first time was performed by Ina Castravet, who became the winner of the Best Employee of the Civil Registry Service contest. “All the 23 couples participated in a draw held at Shopping MallDova. One of the couples won a seven-day vacation to Turkey, while five couples - by a romantic dinner at the restaurant. Shopping MallDova gave each couple by a gift certificate worth 1,000 lei that can be exchanged for goods sold in the mall,” said Irina Ghelbur, PR manager at Shopping MallDova. “From the very first day when I proposed to my future wife I knew today will be the most important day. We chose this day as we are sure it will be lucky for us,” said one of the grooms. “This date – 09.09.09 – will bring us good luck. I’m already lucky as I have a beautiful and kind wife,” said another groom. “We met on September 9. It is like a guide for us,” said a bride. The newly married couples danced and enjoyed themselves together with Nelly Ciobanu, who sang “The Moldovan Round Dance”. Over 100 couples registered their marriages in Moldova today.
