Tiraspol has once again blocked the 1+1 format meeting, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday, according to the Bureau for Reintegration Policies. The political representative from Tiraspol rejected both the proposal to hold the meeting at the OSCE Mission headquarters in Chisinau and the alternative of a video conference, IPN reports.
The Bureau for Reintegration Policies (BPR) stated that Tiraspol’s political representative officially declined the meeting today, insisting that it be held in Bender instead.
“This approach proves that Tiraspol is not interested in restoring dialogue or resolving the issues accumulated during negotiations,” the Bureau’s statement reads.
The previous attempt to hold a 1+1 format meeting took place in mid-January, amid the energy crisis. At that time, Tiraspol refused to attend a meeting in Chisinau, citing security risks. However, during the same period, the leader of the separatist regime was able to travel to Moscow via Chisinau International Airport without any issues. Meanwhile, Transnistrian officials accused Chisinau representatives of refusing to meet in Bender.
