The head of the public association “Moldova Platform” Irina Vlah said that the biggest concern of the people is related to the demographic crisis faced by the country. This fact was ascertained during the “Voice of the People” campaign, which the association has conducted in localities across the country. According to her, the villages are deserted, the people leave the country en masse, and in this way the basis of society is destroyed.

Irina Vlah told a press briefing that the purpose of the campaign was to identify the problems faced by the citizens, to make them public, including through appeals to the country’s leadership, so that the agenda of the decision-makers is adjusted to meet the people’s expectations.

On behalf of many of you, I asked Maia Sandu, including in her capacity as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to come out publicly and explain why the budget of the Ministry of Defense was increased, why radars are being bought?”' the leader of the Moldova Platform said.

According to her, the people are worried about “the dictatorship that is increasingly being established in Moldova.” “The inconvenient press is liquidated, the political opponents are persecuted and lynched in the media. The basic institutions in a democratic state based on the rule of law were put at the service of Maia Sandu’s and her team’s interests,” stated Irina Vlah.

The politician also said that the discussions with citizens also focused on poverty, corruption, the state debt, closure of schools and hospitals, crime situation and other issues.
