By holding referendum, AEI aims to preserve power, PSD
The initiation of a constitutional referendum for simplifying the procedure for electing the head of state is a new stage of the AEI strategy aimed at preserving power, considers the Social Democratic Party (PSD).
The Social-Democrats say all the decisions taken by Parliament after September 28, 2011, including the one concerning the constitutional referendum, are unconstitutional as the legislature was to elect the head of state by that date, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the PSD.
The Social Democratic Party demands that the parties representing the Alliance for European Integration and their representatives that have the status of nongovernmental organizations should recognize the fact that in reality they are those who violated all the constitutional norms and that the political crisis in the country is caused by the arrogance and fanfaronade of the AEI leaders, which are accompanied by their ardent wish to control the financial flows in the country.
The PSD calls on the lawmakers who understand that the power is usurped by the AEI and are against double standards to renounce the seats of MP as this Parliament is no longer legitimate and to ask the Constitutional Court to establish the existence of preconditions for dissolving the legislative body.
