The Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova could be transferred from the Government’s administration back under the management of the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure. On June 2, the legislative body adopted a bill to this effect in the first reading, IPN reports.
Deputy Minister of Transport Vitalie Rapcea, who presented the bill in Parliament, said that if the Civil Aviation Authority is managed again by the Ministry, better convergence of the policies and central public authorities’ efforts aimed at developing civil aviation will be ensured. Among other advantages generated by healthy competition on the market will be safer conditions for passengers, lower plane ticket prices, liberalized market and services of a high quality.
According to Vitalie Rapcea, the Civil Aviation Authority contributes to the mobility of persons and to the formation of Moldova’s GDP and should be in a visible place in the agenda of the central public administration, namely the Ministry of Transport
The deputy minister said the European states do not have an independent or state-run Aviation Authority. These bodies are managed by the Transport Ministry.
