CNA and European Public Prosecutor's Office to cooperate on fraud cases involving EU funds

The National Anticorruption Center (CNA) and the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) will collaborate on cases of corruption and fraud involving European funds, as well as the recovery of criminal assets. Alexandr Pinzari, CNA Director, and Laura Codruta Kovesi, EPPO Chief Prosecutor, signed an agreement to establish a legal framework for the secure and efficient exchange of information, data, and evidence, reports IPN.

The parties will strengthen their capacities through expertise exchange, with EPPO providing technical assistance, training, and best practices to help CNA enhance its institutional ability to investigate corruption cases. The agreement ensures that resources derived from EU financial assistance and development funds are used transparently and effectively, marking a step forward in aligning with EU requirements on governance, rule of law, and anti-corruption policies.

“This partnership also contributes to broader objectives of transparency, accountability, and European integration”, stated CNA Director Alexandr Pinzari following the agreement's signing.
