The parliamentary group of the Party of Communists registered a draft statement by which the legislative body condemns the phenomenon of political migration with the Standing Bureau, the group’s head Inna Supac told a news conference on February 18. She said the initiative was put forward in connection with the defection of 14 members from the Communist group at the end of 2015, IPN reports.
Inna Supac stated they expect that the MPs will support the statement and will together draft a legislative initiative by which to combat this phenomenon. “The Communist MPs condemn the acts of betrayal and political migration, which increased in number in the recent past. We need legislation to fight this phenomenon,” she said.
The lawmaker also said that in the current session of Parliament, the Communist group will continue to work for the people’s benefit. “The largest part of our work is aimed at ensuring the socioeconomic welfare of the people. We will devote special attention to the state budget and will ask that this should be socially oriented. We will demand not to close education institutions and to increase the budgets of schools, nurseries, etc.,“stated Inna Supac.
The Communists’ leader Vladimir Voronin told the same news conference that the current executive includes the same persons who pushed the country towards crisis. “The very first steps taken were not aimed at bringing things in order. They continue to grumble that they do not benefit from assistance. For example, the Association Agreement with the EU was drafted by European bodies and was not discussed with Moldovan institutions. Now they have to implement it, but don’t know how to do it,” he stated.
As to the 500 members of the Party of Communists who several weeks ago announced that they defect to the Party of Socialists, Vladimir Voronin said this figure is insignificant compared with the number of those who join the ranks of the Communists.
