Differing opinions about first year in office of President Dodon

While the Socialists consider that President Igor Dodon during the first year in office managed to deliver many of the electoral promises made last year, representatives of civil society do not see great accomplishments in the President’s work. The issue was developed in the talk show “Expertise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.

Socialist MP Bogdan Tardea said Igor Dodon made many promises and many of them were fulfilled. Among these are the restoration of relations with the Russian Federation, unblocking of exports to the Russian market and fostering of relations with the Eurasian Union. The President submitted to Parliament a bill on the banking frauds, requested the Supreme Court of Justice to annul ex-President Nicolae Timofti’s order to name Eduard Harunjen as prosecutor general and suggested holding a referendum.

Angela Arama, a member of the Great National Assembly Council, said Igor Dodon did well in his role of scarecrow of the so-called political danger and helps by all his acts the Democratic leader Vladimir Plahotniuc to go to the development partners and say that Moldova is threatened by the geopolitical danger and to beg financing from the Europeans, posing as a human rights defender.

Ex-MP Stela Jantuan noted that the first steps taken by Igor Dodon as President were incorrect as he avoided using the mechanism of the dialogue with the opposition and the people.
