Dodon asks Voronin’s help to sack Chirtoaca
The leader of the Socialists’ Party (PSRM) Igor Dodon is asking Communist leader Vladimir Voronin's help to organize a referendum and sack Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, Info-Prim Neo learned from a PSRM press release.
“The Party of Socialists salutes the statement of the PCRM group in the Chisinau Municipal Council on July 20 regarding the need to sack the General Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca”, declared the PSRM head.
Igor Dodon proposes an open constructive collaboration in order to initiate and organize the referendum for sacking the Mayor. “It is time to give up the hostile declarations, which is only to the gain of the Liberal radicals, and to focus our efforts on repairing the situation in the capital”, reads the message.
Dorin Chirtoaca is at his second term as mayor of the capital after re-election in June 2011. In the second round of local elections, Chirtoaca bested Igor Dodon, who was the Communists’ candidate. In November 2011, he left PCRM and became the leader of PSRM.
