Dorin Chirtoaca says Moldova stepped again on its dignity

The first deputy head of the Liberal Party (PL) Dorin Chirtoaca said that Moldova stepped again on its dignity when it welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Our dignity has been already trampled over when a representative for Transnistria – a man with an extremist and ultranationalist position - was designated. Moldova’s dignity was injured from the highest levels of Russia,” Dorin Chirtoaca has told the journalists. He also said that Moldova tried to adopt a dignified attitude when the Foreign Ministry asked the Russian Federation to provide explanations for appointing this person. “After these two situations when the attitude remained again hostile, the envoy came to Chisinau on Easter, practically on a white horse. He was welcomed almost with honors. Why should we have asked for explanations earlier?” asked Dorin Chirtoaca. The Liberal said that Moldova wants to have gas and electric power, but human dignity should be above everything. “They saw that we tolerate their mockery and keep silent. We can have gas and electricity in conditions of dignity, but we must want this. We should stand on our dignity,” stated Dorin Chirtoaca. Earlier, the Liberal Party requested the Government to ban Dmitry Rogozin from entering Moldova. Dmitry Rogozin paid a visit to Moldova on March 16. He had bilateral meetings with President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Vlad Filat and representatives of the Transnistrian administration.
