Emil Boc suggests convening joint meeting of Moldovan and Romanian Governments

One of Moldova’s strategic plans for the near future is to attract Romanian investors to Moldova, Acting President Marian Lupu told Romania’s Prime Minister Emil Boc during a meeting in the Government Building, Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent in Bucharest reports. “We are interested in having Romanian investments in different sectors of the Moldovan economy. We will thus be able to strengthen the bilateral relations,” said Marian Lupu. He also said that the relations between the two countries will be further based on the development of trade, promotion of joint crossborder and infrastructure-related projects and attraction of investments to Moldova. The Romanian Premier said effort should be maid to strengthen not only the political, but also the economic and cultural relations. “We have always believed that Moldova and Romania have a common future in the EU. Therefore, the Government of Romania will do its utmost to support Moldova’s European integration aspirations at European level,” said Emil Boc. He proposed holding a joint meeting of the Governments of the two states in autumn in order to develop the bilateral relations. Marian Lupu is in Bucharest on an official two-day visit. He had meetings with the President of Romania Traian Basescu and chairman of the Romanian Senate Mircea Geoana. A meeting involving Romanian businessmen and Moldovan entrepreneurs working in Romania is set to take place at the Chamber of Trade of Romania.
