European Action Movement, Liberal Party agree on merger

The European Action Movement (MAE) is set to merge with the Liberal Party. This was confirmed by MAE leader Veaceslav Untila. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Veaceslav Untila said the final decision would be announced after the assemblies of each party's territorial organizations and bilateral formal talks. “At present we are at the stage of developing a merger concept and we have entrusted this task to the collective bodies. There have been formed working groups composed by three Liberal members and three MAE members, who are working on the legal arrangements of this merger”, said Veaceslav Untila. He added that the initiative came from MAE and the decision was negotiated during several weeks. In the parliamentary election on 28 November 2010, the European Action Movement polled 2% of the vote.
