The raids on the first deputy chairman of the Executive Committee of Gagauzia, Ilie Uzun, and deputy of the People's Assembly of Gagauzia, Ruslan Unilovschi, are an act of political pressure and intimidation of the opposition, the regional governor Evghenia Gututu said in a commentary published on the page of the Executive Committee of Gagauzia, IPN reports.

Bashkan emphasized that the whole team expresses its support for the persons targeted by the raids and their families. Evghenia Gutț urges the international community to observe what is happening in Moldova and to objectively analyze the actions of the government which, according to her, are aimed at "suppressing the political opposition and violating the rights of the inhabitants of Gagauzia".

The "Lightning Bolt" masked men raided a criminal case in southern Moldova on Thursday morning in connection with tax evasion and money laundering. Details of the case were not given.
