The director of the State Agency “Moldsilva” Ion Lupu accepted to resign at the request of the Liberal Party (PL), which named him to the post. Ion Lupu was among the participants in the Domnesca Forest hunting that ended tragically for a Chisinau resident, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy chairman of the PL Valeriu Munteanu said that in the January 18 meeting of the party’s bureau they recommended Ion Lupu to tender his resignation. Ion Lupu took part in the hunting together with a number of state functionaries. During the hunting, a participant was wounded fatally and the incident was hidden from the public. The Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said that he wasn’t informed by Ion Lupu about this case. Ion Lupu is accused of allowing hunting illegally on the territory of a scientific reserve. Lupu’s resignation followed the resignation of Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko, who also took part in that hunting.
