The integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union cannot be monopolized by one group or political party. It is a national mission in which everyone actively contributes to shaping the future of the country. The integration into the European Union is a complex process that requires cooperation, open dialogue and mutual respect, said the leaders of youth organizations of six political parties, who on Tuesday signed, in Europe Square in Chisinau, a joint declaration, pledging to contribute to the achievement of the country’s European objective, IPN reports.

The signed document notes that the the government and the opposition are obliged to respect democratic pluralism, separation of powers, independence of the press, freedom of expression and religious conscience, in a climate of tolerance and respect, to ensure free and fair elections, recognition and respect for human rights, including of national minorities, as well as sustainable and balanced development of the state, in which its norms are compatible and compliant with the Community principles and legislation of the European Union. “The EU must be perceived as a system of values and thinking that we want to be part of,” said the young signatories.

In the coming months, the young people will talk to citizens from all over the country about the European development course and how to transform the Republic of Moldova into a country from which the people no longer leave. The young people who feel that this message is close to them are invited to join the campaign.



The declaration was signed by young people representing the League of Towns and Communes, the European Social Democratic Party, the People Power Party, the Dignity and Truth Platform, the National Alternative Movement, and the Coalition for Unity and Wellbeing.
