Kalman Mizsei completes mission in Moldova
The term in office of the European Union Special Representative for Moldova Kalman Mizsei has expired. Moldova's Acting President and Head of Parliament Marian Lupu thanked the European official for his prodigious work and for substantially strengthening the relations between Moldova and the EU during his mission in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Parliament's press service.
In a meeting with Marian Lupu, Kalman Mizsei said the four years that he spent in Moldova were the most intense in his diplomatic career and he is proud that he was together with the Moldovan people over this period.
Kalman Mizsei will be replaced by Miroslav Lajčák, who served as Foreign Minister of Slovakia in 2009-2010.
Kalman Mizsei was named EU Special Representative for Moldova on March 1, 2007 on the recommendation of the Secretary General of the Council of the European Union Javier Solana.
