Leader of “Antimafie” warns about possible revolt in Chisinau

A revolt similar to that in Ukraine may erupt in Moldova if the European officials do not take drastic measures towards some of the representatives of the Moldovan power, the leader of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” Sergiu Mocanu said in a news conference at IPN.

According to Mocanu, Vlad Plahotniuc and Vlad Filat are ‘conjuncture Europeans’ supported by bureaucrats from Brussels and when the EU obliges Moldova to implement real reforms, the two may act as the Ukrainian President before the Vilnius EaP Summit and suspend the association with the EU.

The leader of “Antimafie” added that the current power kept the police officers who discredited themselves during the April 2009 events and, if a revolt erupts, these policemen will commit bloodshed.

Sergiu Mocanu said that at the beginning of next week he will make an inquiry to the European Union Delegation to Moldova and will ask the EU to intervene in a number of matters. “First of all, we demand reforming the prosecution service and the judicial system until the parliamentary elections, making changes to the broadcasting system so as to demonopolize the mass media, banning Filat and Plahotniuc from travelling to Europe and blocking their bank accounts abroad,” he stated.

Asked about the corruption accusations made agrarians businessman Veaceslav Platon, Mocanu said that there is only an economic conflict between Platon and Plahotniuc, but the latter, together with Filat, want to transform Platon into the character of a myth about the external danger that can block the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU so as to distract people’s attention from the real dangers existing in the country.
