The Liberal Party (PL) seeks the resignation of Prime Minister Vlad Filat and other functionaries involved in corruption schemes, traffic of influence, and abuse of power. “The resignation of honor of all the functionaries involved, including the Prime Minister, is imminent in such cases,” the PL head Mihai Ghimpu said in a news conference, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The PL condemns the phenomena of corruption, traffic of influence, abuse of power, blackmail and other fraudulent schemes investigated by the law enforcement bodies. The judiciary must do their duty, regardless of the rank and political affiliation. Who is to blame must be held accountable in accordance with the law, said the Liberal leader.
According to Mihai Ghimpu, the AEI parties have sufficient resources, including human, to overcome the current problems and cope with the created situation. “The discussions about the creation of another parliamentary majority, dreamt of by the Communist opposition, are useless. We call on the PLDM and PDM to recognize these responsibilities. We want to keep the AEI, but it must have a different quality. It must be an alliance for the people,” he stated.
The PL is for a constructive dialogue that can improve the political climate and maintain the strategic European integration course.
The PLDM withdrew from the AEI agreement on February 13.
