Mihai Ghimpu: We do not see a way out

The situation is becoming more difficult and the Liberal Party sees no way out of it, the Liberals’ leader Mihai Ghimpu said after a new round of talks held on December 15, IPN reports.

Mihai Ghimpu considers the deadlock is due to the fact that the negotiations started from a wrong formula. “Until now we started with the formation of a ruling alliance in Parliament. Now the discussions began with the designation of a political or apolitical Prime Minister and with the imposition of conditions. We now cannot agree which of the parties should propose the candidate for Premier. We, the Liberals, see no way out of this situation,” he stated.

The leader of the Liberal Party voiced hope that the negotiations with the participation of the head of state would help break the stalemate. “We will see what happens tomorrow, when we meet with the President. He will be put in the situation to either nominate a candidate for premiership or to wait until we reach a compromise,” he said.
