Mihai Godea left the March 22 sitting of Parliament after a bill on the amendment of the constitutional provision concerning the election of the head of state was not included in the agenda. He told the press that the deadline for passing this bill agreed with the leaders of the ruling alliance is March 25, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”It is the first commitment of the ten made by the leaders of the parliamentary groups of the Alliance for European Integration. I think that if this bill hadn’t been so important, they could have informed me about this beforehand. We earlier agreed to modify certain terms and a compromise could be reached now as well. I consider the reason for this delay is the irresponsibility of the AEI MPs,” Mihai Godea told the journalists.
The unaffiliated lawmaker expects that the AEI MPs will provide explanations for such a behavior. He said it its good that the head of state elected on March 16 has not become involved in the political intrigues on the Moldovan political arena, or at least this is how it seems.
Mihai Godea, who heads the Democratic Action Party, put forward ten conditions, saying he will take part in the presidential elections if the Alliance for European Integration fulfils them. According to him, the assumption of responsibility for fulfilling these conditions represents a guarantee that Moldova’s European course will be maintained.
