Moldovan delegation attending session of NATO PA

A delegation of Moldova’s Parliament is taking part in the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly that is held in Budapest on May 15-18. The delegation consists of MPs Valeriu Strelet, who heads the delegation, and Dumitru Diacov.

The subjects examined within the five committees include the challenges in fighting terrorism, counteracting of propagandistic attacks against the Euro-Atlantic community, the NATO Readiness Action Plan, the impact of the sanctions imposed on the Russian economy, the state of the Ukrainian economy and its development prospects, and the situation related to terrorism financing. In the plenary sitting of May 18, the members of the NATO PA will discuss and approve the draft declaration on NATO enlargement.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly is a forum for international parliamentary dialogue on security, political, social and economic matters. The spring session of the NATO PA will involve 270 delegates from the 28 NATO member states, parliamentary observers and associate members from 23 countries.
