MPs will work on Chisinau’s Day

The lawmakers will work on Chisinau’s Day marked on October 14. Liberal MP Victor Popa suggested in Parliament that this day should be a nonworking day for the lawmakers as well, but his proposal did not garner the necessary number of votes, Info-Prim Neo reports. Only 40 MPs of the ruling alliance voted in favor. The Communists voted against. Liberal lawmaker Valeriu Munteanu said the agenda of the October 14 sitting includes only two bills and they may be examined in the October 13 sitting. He stated that under the Labor Code the day of any settlement is a nonworking day. Head of Parliament Marian Lupu replied that the agenda is not a problem and more bills can be added to it. Under a Government Decision, the employees of budget-funded institutions in the municipality will not work on Chisinau’s Day.
