National Liberals win appeal against Justice Ministry
The Chisinau Court of Appeals today ruled in favor of the National Liberal Party ordering the Ministry of Justice to register the recent amendments to the party's by-laws, in particular its declared objective to achieve unification with Romania, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The party said in a press release that the ruling recognizes the unlawfulness of the Ministry's refusal to register the amendments in question. It also noted that the National Liberal Party has become the first political organization in almost 21 years since Moldova's independence to expressly set out its unification objective in its by-laws and and stand up for this objective in court.
Satisfied with the decision, National Liberal leader Vitalia Pavlicenco took back her request for public apologies from Justice Minister Oleg Efrim.
Today's decision can be further appealed in a higher court.
