Negotiators discuss shortcomings of state institutions

The representatives of the three parties – the PLDM, PDM and PL – discussed the shortcomings of the state institutions at a new round of talks on March 21. They said the negotiations are at the proposals summing up stage and they aim to achieve consensus, IPN reports.

The head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentarian group Valeriu Strelet told the journalists that the negotiations centered on the activity of the legislature and the institutions that must be freed from political influence.

Democratic MP Igor Corman said that on March 22 they will discuss again the results of the negotiation process and will then continue the talks. He stated that the discussions focused on the functionality of the institutions controlled by the legislative body, but didn’t give details.

Liberal lawmaker Valeriu Munteanu said that more than half of the items included in the agenda of the negotiations have been considered. “We discussed the shortcomings of the state institutions controlled by Parliament and of those controlled by the Government,” he added.

The negotiations are aimed at creating a new parliamentary majority following the withdrawal of the PLDM from the agreement on the formation of the Alliance for European Integration.
