New meeting in Paris to support Ukraine

Leaders from 31 countries gathered today in Paris for the meeting known as the "Coalition of Goodwill" in support of Ukraine, IPN reports.

Officials held discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on support measures for Ukraine, including the potential deployment of military forces after a peace agreement is reached.

French President Emmanuel Macron stated after the talks that France and the United Kingdom would lead a group of European countries in supporting the future agreement, despite a lack of unanimity among European allies regarding the deployment of military forces.

"We do not need unanimity to make this happen," the Paris leader said, as quoted by France 24.

"What unites us is that everyone is offering support, speaking in favor of Ukraine, and backing security guarantees for us. It is very important that they stand with us," said Volodymyr Zelensky, quoted by The Guardian.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed the plan for the heads of the French, British, and German armed forces to travel to Kyiv to assist in planning support for the Ukrainian military as part of efforts to push for peace in Ukraine.
