Opposition leaves Parliament sitting

The Communist faction left the June 14 sitting of Parliament because Speaker Igor Corman refused to put a draft decision on the creation of a commission of inquiry into the road accident that involved the minister and deputy minister of the interior to the vote, IPN reports.

The Communist leader Vladimir Voronin said that they must establish where the two officials had been. Igor Corman replied that the issue is to be discussed by the Parliament’s Standing Bureau first.

In the evening of about 18.30 on June 12m, the vehicle driven by Dorin Recean overturned after a tire burst. According to the Ministry of the Interior, the car travelled at a speed of 65 km per hour. The two officials were returning from a working meeting with heads of the Ministry’s subdivisions in Telenesti, Orhei, Rezina, Soldanesti, and Criuleni.

The proposal to set up a commission of inquiry was put forward by Liberal lawmaker Valeriu Munteanu, who said that Dorin Recean was under the influence as they had been at a bash.
