Parliamentary commission chooses NIC member on behalf of civil society
The Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities on December 18 will select the member of the National Integrity Commission (NIC) that will represent civil society. The commission’s chairman Victor Popa has told Info-Prim Neo that five candidates applied for the seat.
The applicants are Dumitru Proca, Dumitru Graur, Igor Caldare, Anatolie Petrici, and Galina Bostan.
Cristina Cojocaru, who represented civil society in the commission until recently, tendered her resignation after the NIC chairman was elected, arguing she was not sure that the commission was set up legally.
The National Integrity Commission was empowered to verify the incomes statements of public servants.
