The candidate for Prime Minister Pavel Filip agrees to sign the integrity statement proposed by civil society. The only condition is that the signing process should not be turned into a show. “It is important to state your integrity not only when signing the statement. The integrity should be maintained throughout the mandate,” the candidate said in a meeting with civil society on January 19, IPN reports.
“I’m ready to sign the statement and ask that the whole governmental team should sign it, but we should not make a show of this,” stated Pavel Filip, noting that he didn’t break the legislation of Moldova or of other states. “I saw what they say about my work at the company “Tutun-CTC”. But that period was interesting for me and I’m proud that I could assert myself as a crisis manager. Then the company sustained losses and I made effort for it to earn revenues.”
The candidate said he wants the people to understand what real reforms mean. “These do not produce results immediately. I did reforms at “Tutun-CTC” and optimized the costs. This led to the elimination of a number of subdivisions. The people were fired. We should further optimize costs and build a platform that would ensure the implementation of reforms. I will make effort for a single communication platform to be created between those from Parliament and Government so that the adopted bills are implemented,” stated Pavel Filip.
The representatives of civil society inquired how many women will be in the future Cabinet and asked the candidate to take into account the gender equality ensuring agenda when forming the future governmental team. They also requested that the draft government program should be published before it is presented in Parliament.
As regards gender equality, Pavel Filip said this can be ensured by offering women the possibility of building a career by providing appropriate nursery and other services so that the mothers could work. As to the publication of the government program, he expressed his readiness to do this, but noted that his program is based on the government program of the Strelet Government.
