PLDM and PDM parliamentarians accuse each other of hindering reforms

The Democratic Party blocks the most reforms, especially those related to monopolist companies in the energy, telecommunications and ferrous metals export sectors. The accusation was voiced during a PRO TV show by PLDM parliamentarian Veaceslav Ionita, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I’m sick and tired of keeping my mouth shut for the sake of the Alliance, of this blackmailing with the destruction of the Alliance and coalition with the Communists. If last year some things were hidden as delays, now the hostility is shown publicly”, the Liberal-Democrat MP said. Adrian Candu, PDM parliamentarian, replied that PDM abstained from voting because it wanted to learn more about the proposed laws. “We don’t want to vote any more laws like the one about imported cars. We won’t approach draft laws superficially. We think that somebody tries to ruin money-making companies in order to privatize them easier. It’s someone else who has more experience in privatization”, mentioned Adrian Candu. He denied that his party colleague, the First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc, had some interest in state-owned companies like Franzeluta or Moldtelecom. The PDM Parliament member suggested that it was PLDM who lacked political will in the AIE and reminded about Liberal-Democrat leader Vlad Filat’s refusal to participate in the meeting of the AIE Council. “It’s hard to be part of an alliance. Some limits have been broken and now feelings dominate reason. The man (Vlad Filat) claims he is the number one in the country. Then, he should show wisdom and maturity, instead of attacking other persons. I’d be happy to know who pays the costs of the Prime Minister’s private visits”, added Adrian Candu. Veaceslav Ionita said that the AIE Council could meet without Vlad Filat. “I’m happy that PDM realized how important Vlad Filat is and that AIE couldn’t work without him. Nonetheless, AIE isn’t formed only of party leaders”, mentioned Ionita. Vlad Lupan, PL lawmaker, who also attended the show, said that in AIE, everybody blasted the others, thinking the one who hit harder would win. “Wrong! We’re all going to lose. We aren’t rivals, but colleagues in an Alliance”, he explained. The PDM leader, Marian Lupu, called the meeting of the AIE Council this week. However, it won’t take place because the other two leaders didn’t confirm their presence. The Government press service announced that Prime Minister Vlad Filat, PLDM leader, was on a short holiday of 4 days.
