The Central Election Commission approved a cap on the financial resources that can be transferred to the electoral fund for organizing and holding the June 5 general local elections. The cap for every party or electoral bloc will be set depending on the number of voters, Info-Prim Neo reports. Under the Commission’s decision, the political parties, electoral blocs and sociopolitical organizations that will take part in the elections will be able to spend at most 22 million lei each. As to the independent candidates, the method of determining the upper limit will depend on the number of voters written in the electoral rolls. Every independent will be allowed to spend up to 50 eurocents per voter in the district. According to the Commission’s administration, this principle is used in most of the EU member states.
