The People’s Party of the Republic of Moldova (PPRM) rolled out a campaign themed “You choose the President”. The event started today, May 21, in the center of Chisinau and is to be launched in other settlements of the country the next days. According to managing co-chairman of the PPRM Alexandu Oleinic, the campaign will last for two months, IPN reports.

“The Constitution must be definitely amended. There is political and economic instability in the country. The political class permanently becomes involved in people’s lives. The wish for the people to elect the head of state was expressed by the citizens,” stated Alexandu Oleinic.

The list with signatures was opened by Alexandru Oleinic. “The President in Moldova must be independent, a guarantor of the Constitution and defender of the country,” said the politician.

The signatures will be collected by the local organizations of the PPRM in all the country’s settlements. Afterward, they will be presented to the Central Election Commission.
