The Political Party for Moldova’s Union (PPUM) calls upon all the Democratic parties, first of all the parties of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI), to field a common candidate for mayor of Chisinau. The party’s president Ana Tcaci told a news conference that the Democratic forces should join for the elections so as not to allow the Communists to return to power, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Time has come for all the Democratic parties of the country to unite and promote the democratic principles and values. The people are tired of political intrigues and want to see a united team in the AEI, not political rivals. The Political Party for Moldova’s Union calls on the election runners to prove maturity and political will. Otherwise, the Communists will again take over the mayoralty of Chisinau, as during the times of Iordan and Ursu,” said Ana Tcaci. She urged the parties to follow the example of the Liberal Democratic Party and withdraw their candidates for mayor and throw support to Dorin Chirtoaca.
The PPUM is taking part in the local elections in Chisinau with a list of candidates for seats on the Municipal Council. The party pledges to create new workplaces, develop small and medium-sized businesses, and ensure decent living conditions for pensioners, invalids, families with many children and students. The list of councilors includes 39 women and 13 men.
