On April 7 and 8, the bilateral screening on Chapter 29 - Customs Union will take place in Brussels. According to the Ministry of Finance, the final preparatory exercise for the screening, held on March 31 and April 1, highlighted the progress made in harmonizing national customs legislation with the acquis communautaire and in implementing the commitments undertaken in the EU accession process, IPN reports.
During the two-day meeting, the steps taken in aligning the regulatory and institutional framework, adjusting customs procedures to European standards, facilitating international trade, strengthening control mechanisms and digitalization of customs systems were analyzed.
"The preparation for the bilateral screening demonstrates the constant commitment of the Republic of Moldova to advance in the process of accession to the European Union," notes the Ministry of Finance.
