Members and sympathizers of the Political Party “Our Party” led by Renato Usatyi mounted a match through Chisinau, demanding that early legislative elections should be held. Renato Usatyi said the parliamentary majority should not be allowed to invest a Cabinet headed by a Prime Minister representing the Democratic Party, IPN reports.

The leader of the PPPN told the participants in the march that it is his duty to come to power and show those who consider that they ‘appropriated’ the country that this is not so. He expressed his conviction that he and his supporters are the last hope of hundreds of thousands of Moldovans.

The marchers who stopped in front of the Parliament Building chanted “Down with Plahotniuc!” (Vlad Plahotniuc, first deputy chairman of the PDM, e.n.). The protest organizers noted that Vlad Plahotniuc subdued the legal system and punishes those who struggle against him, like former Communist MP Grigore Petrenco and several supporters of this who were arrested for protesting against Plahotniuc half a year ago.

The protesters said they want early parliamentary elections because the power must be returned to the people. They said the country belongs to the people and early elections should be held to avoid the chaos and a maidan similar to that witnessed in Ukraine.

The protest organizers told the crowd that those who are in power must not be allowed to govern for three more years as elections in 2018 will no longer be organized because the Republic of Moldova will not exist then already.

Attending the event, mayor of Comrat Serghei Anastasov said that if the people do not struggle, the Republic of Moldova, including Gagauzia, will not exist. The people must fight for changes, especially at economic level, because the country will disappear without economy.

Supporters of the Party of Socialists and the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” also protested in the center of Chisinau. Early legislative elections were demanded in all the three events.
