An inferior sergeant of the Military Training Base of the National Army in March – April this year used violence against six inferiors of his, causing them injuries.  Recently, the Military Court put him on probation for a five-year period. The sentence is not yet definitive, IPN reports.

In the period, the Chisinau Military Prosecutor’s Office carried out inspections in a move to make sure that the rights of the conscript soldiers of the National Army’s Military Training Base are observed.

There were identified a number of cases of ill-treatment of soldiers. The persons holding responsible posts at the military unit knew about most of these cases, but didn’t inform the Chisinau Military Prosecutor’s Office about them.

Military prosecutors started criminal cases over use of violence, violation of the statutory rules concerning the relations between servicemen, and desertion. The investigations go on.
