The Socialist MPs said they are against the legislative proposal to amend and supplement the Broadcasting Code put forward by the Democrats. In a press statement, the Socialists say the Democrats’ proposal to ban the broadcasting of Russian news and analytical programs is anti-popular, anti-constitutional and anti-democratic, IPN reports.
The Socialists consider the initiative flagrantly violates the principles of the freedom of expression and the right to information enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and other legal acts. The Democrats and the parliamentary alliance undermine the process of reestablishing the strategic partnership with the Russian Federation that was successfully promoted by President Igor Dodon during the last six months.
The Socialist MPs said the adoption of this law can lead again to destabilization in the Republic of Moldova. Therefore, they will struggle against it by all legal ways possible.
